At Hardy Bernese, we want the best health, temperament, and overall quality of our AKC puppies. We carefully breed our dog so that the Bernese Mountain Dog is improved. We use the finest practices to ensure we give you a puppy that will live a long, happy, healthy life.

Commitment to Health:

 

The health of your dog is the most important thing to us. Here's

what sets us apart from everyone else: We feed Gypsy and her puppies raw organic meat from our farm. They are fed raw chicken, beef and lamb. This is the best start for their life.

Both parents were thoroughly health tested before breeding was even considered. All puppies are dewormed, vaccinated and vet checked before going to their forever homes. We are so confident that your puppy is of the utmost health that we have a one year guarantee. Our health contract is available to view upon request.

Loving Environment:

Our puppies are raised in our home.  We ensure that each puppy bonds with Gypsy and gets to nurse on demand. They are never separated from their mother. They are also weaned naturally - by her, not me. However, they are handled by me daily. After they are three weeks old, I allow my seven siblings to begin carefully interacting with them.

Desensitization & Socialization:

Before your puppy leaves our farm, they will be exposed to other dogs, cows, sheep, cats, a horse, and chickens. We have lots of visitors and everyone loves to play with puppies! 

Here's a list of things we do to desensitize: 

* Car rides.

* Loud noises - everything from vacuum cleaners to gun shots.

* Lots of handling.

* Expose them to thunderstorm sounds.

 We want them to enter your family ready for whatever life might throw at them and we do our best to prepare them.

Personalized Customer Experience:

When I call a breeder asking about things, I would expect them to know the answers. Each customer is different, each with their own unique questions and requests. We do our best to respond promptly and adequately. Each puppy is different, and we do our best to help you pick the best one for your family.

Transparency:

You can visit our farm to pick out a puppy upon appointment. We have heard of places that only want to meet their clients in an agreed upon spot - that is a red flag! Here at Hardy Bernese, we welcome visitors to see exactly how we operate! 

 

Ethics:

We treat all of our animals on the farm with respect. They were created by God for us to be stewards of and we take that very seriously. Gypsy is my personal companion and I love her dearly. I purchased her with the intention to breed, but with a deeper desire to have as a friend. She even slept in the same bed with me when I first got her, to my mom's disliking... I take her on walks, car rides and she follows me around the farm while I do chores. You won't find a back yard breeding operation here.
